TARTANS: McCLURE and McLEAN
My grandmothers were Vera McClure Butterfield and Blanche MacLean McLean.

When you look at the panels, can you find triangles using McClure and/or McLean tartan in each one?
Look carefully--they may be cleverly folded. Maybe I used a white triangle with a red stripe, or a dark green triangle with a black stripe. Here are a few photos to help you in your search.

In GREGG LAKE, look to the right near the white birch trees. See how I made fir trees using dark green triangles with a black stripe? I carefully cut those pieces from MacLean of Duart hunting tartan.
In OCEAN, follow the arrow to the two blue-and-green triangles among the turquoise waves. I carefully (or "fussy") cut those pieces from the large scale MacLean of Duart tartan.

MORGAN McLEAN is my son so he has both bloodlines. His panel contains McClure (red arrow) and small scale MacLean of Duart (green arrow). He visited Duart Castle, seat of the MacLeans, as a lad and signed the special family guestbook.
